Medical technology : The cyclotron
The Caribbean Institute of Medical Imaging of the University Hospital of Fort de France has just received its cyclotron as well as other latest-generation equipment including a wide-field PET scan (there are only 3 others in the world: Zurick, Tokyo, USA), a PET MRI and a biopsy robot that allows the patient to do his biopsy during the PET MRI, in the case of prostate cancer, for example (a world first).
This institute offers patients the opportunity to do all their examinations in the same day, in the same place.
Patients in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Europe will be able to access this exceptional equipment due to its power, precision and speed in a single trip and at a much more affordable cost than in the United States.
